Overview
The CAEN A939 Vehicle Mount RFID Interface is a device that allows to identify and monitor the presence of a trailer via UHF RFID.
It is a box that requires a 9-36VDC input and allows Bluetooth® class 2 / RS232 communications.
The A939 has an internal antenna that can be used for on-board badge identification of the driver and a connector for an external antenna. The external antenna can be mounted on the rear of the cab, thus allowing to read UHF tags located on the trailer surface up to 2m distance.
The A939 Vehicle Mount RFID Interface can be coupled with Bluetooth® enabled mobile devices, thus providing transfer of UHF RFID reading of tags via remote GPRS to a central server. If the coupled mobile device has a GPS on board, the complete system enables also geolocation and driver identification throughout the complete trip.
Applications:
- Identification of drivers, trailers and GPS position (geolocation) via coupled Bluetooth® device
- Fleet management of trucks
- Short and long range access control
- Waste management via identification of waste containers
